What happens during a dental consultation?

By Billy Beszeda

“The shortest distance between two people is a smile.” says Victor Borge, danish comedian. Like with everything else, the road to a beautiful smile starts with a single step. In dentistry, this first step is called the consultation. Let us show you how it works.

What should I bring with me?

Obviously, the most important thing you need to bring is something you always carry with you anyways. Your teeth. Other than that, we will need you to provide a list of medication you are on, and to fill in a health questionnaire. These are all important information for the dentist, to determine if the recommended treatments can be carried out.

What’s going to happen?

  • Before the appointment, we need to take a CT-scan. This gives us a 3D image of the entire mouth. Please note that every jewelry should be removed, as it can disrupt the image quality.
  • Once the image is taken, the dentist will do a full mouth examination. Afterwards, you can discuss your dental issues with them, along with what you wish to achieve.
  • Based on the discussion and the examination, the dentist will provide you with detailed treatment plans. There could be several ways to solve your issues, each of these will be explained to you.

How long does this take?

The entire consultation lasts for around 60 minutes. And yes, it is absolutely painless. Many people despise dentists, due to bad experiences. At VitalEurope the well-being of our patients comes first, and we make sure to create an atmosphere where everyone can be confident.

Are there any changes due to Covid-19?

We had to implement a few changes to our regular routine, in order to ensure the safety of our patients and our staff. The maximum number of patients at a given time at the clinic has been limited, and we also ask all of our visitors to wear a face mask and PPE. Our customer service team  will send all the details to our patients, making sure everyone follows the guidelines set by the government.
